The Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society is an opportunity for you to make a powerful impact on the lives of students who attend Ohio State. At most normal parishes, day-to-day operations and special initiatives are primarily covered by the offertory and tithing. Students at Buckeye Catholic give as generously as they can, and we are so grateful for that. However, many students face steep financial realities in obtaining a higher education, leaving them unable to tithe as they might otherwise do. The Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society provides a way to symbolically sponsor students’ offertories as well as spiritually invest in them during their time at Ohio State, filling the gap with grace and concrete support.

How do I become a Buckeye Catholic Sponsor?
Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society membership is extended to those who give a minimum of $1,200+ annually or $100+ monthly to Buckeye Catholic. The inaugural year is from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Visit our Ways to Join page to learn more about becoming a Buckeye Catholic Sponsor.

What does the commitment to spiritual investment entail?
Members of the Sponsor Society commit to praying for the students and their intentions once a week in whatever way they feel called to. Specific prayer requests from students will be sent to sponsors throughout the year in addition to general prayer intentions from the Buckeye Catholic student community.
Can my parish, business, or other organization join the Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society?
Yes. We welcome any parish, business, or other organization to join the Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society as an organizational sponsor. Please reach out to advancement@buckeyecatholic.com to learn more about this opportunity and about the special ways we recognize our organizational sponsors.
Can I make my gift in honor of a specific student or in memory of a loved one?
Yes. If you are using our online giving form, you may select "Donation in honor of —" in the "Additional Details" section, and complete the "Dedication" field with the name(s).
If you are giving via another method, please include the name(s) in the memo or accompanying documentation.
Will my spouse also become a member?
Yes. Your spouse will automatically become a member as well.
Will my employer’s matching gift count towards membership?
Yes. Your employer's matching gift counts toward your Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society membership. If your company has a match program, please indicate that you have arranged a match for your gift by emailing advancement@buckeyecatholic.com.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes. Your gift is tax deductible as allowed by law.

How long will I have my membership?
Buckeye Catholic Sponsor Society membership begins automatically when a minimum monthly gift of $100+ is initiated or annual giving of $1,200+ is reached. Membership is renewed annually based on giving during our fiscal year, which runs from July 1 to June 30.
