Music Ministry

Buckeye Catholic Choir

The primary purpose of the Buckeye Catholic Music Ministry is for the “glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful”. We strive to lead the congregation in song by lifting their hearts and soul to praise God who is Beauty itself. An important part of the mission of the music ministry is to form disciples and bring them closer to God through the beauty, goodness, and truth of the Catholic Church’s rich traditions and heritage of music that belongs to the Church.

“Sacred music surpasses merely religious music when it is joined to the liturgical rite to become “a necessary and integral part of the solemn liturgy,” whose purpose is “the glory of God and the sanctification of the faithful”. (Sacrosanctum Concilium (1963)

“Music performs a function which is noble, unique, and irreplaceable. When it is truly beautiful and inspired, it speaks to us more than all the other arts of goodness, virtue, peace, of matters holy and divine. And for good reason it has always been, and it will always be, an essential part of the liturgy”. (St. Pope John Paull II- December 23, 1988)

“Sacred music should consequently possess sanctity and goodness of form, which will spontaneously produce the final quality of universality”. (St. Pius X’s Motu Proprio: Tra le sollecitudini (1903)
