In the Catholic Church's calendar, these days are considered important enough that we are obliged to attend Mass on that day:

  • Jan. 1 - the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God (10 a.m.)
  • The Ascension of the Lord - 40 days after Easter; in the Diocese of Columbus this feast takes the place of the Seventh Sunday of Easter
  • Aug. 15 - the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  • Nov. 1 - the Solemnity of All Saints
  • Dec. 8 - the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
  • Dec. 25 - the Nativity of the Lord/Christmas (Vigil: 5:30 p.m., 8 p.m. Blue Christmas, midnight. Day: 10 a.m.)

Mass on these Holy Days (except for Christmas will usually be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and the evening before at 5:30 p.m. There may be exceptions to this schedule; please check the current Sunday Bulletin for up-to-date information.

Location

The Newman Center is located at 64 W. Lane Ave., just north of the OSU campus. We're directly across the street from Taylor Tower and the third building west of High St. We have a parking lot on the north side of our building, accessible from W.
