We had a special Mass and reception at the Newman Center to celebrate this milestone on Sunday, Oct. 27!

The History

In the summer of 2009, seven Buckeye Catholics traveled to Texas A&M to experience Aggie Awakening #86. They returned, inspired to bring this impactful student-led weekend retreat experience to Columbus. In the fall of 2009, they led the first ever Buckeye Awakening. In the past 10 years the program has grown and flourished. We've had 20 Buckeye Awakening retreat weekends, impacting more that 1,300 students! This retreat program has become a staple of our campus ministry. It serves as a gateway to deeper involvement in Newman Center ministries, awakens the faith, and builds community relationships.
