Sacramental Preparation

First Reconciliation

All children who are grade two and above are invited to prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Preparation includes presentations as part of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level II atrium and other supplemental materials.

First Reconciliation will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 with a retreat for students from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and a Penance Service at 11:30 a.m. with the families. Children may also schedule a time with any of the priests or come during the regular Saturday Confession time.

First Eucharist

Preparation for First Eucharist is incorporated into the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level II atrium, as well as a retreat 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2012. The cost to cover these extra materials and the retreat is $30. First Eucharist will be celebrated on Saturday, May 6, 2012 at 3 p.m. Please contact Karen Broering for more information.

Youth Confirmation 

We celebrate Confirmation every other year - this year is an OFF year.  Preparation for Confirmation 2013 is available to all high school youth starting September 2012. Please register in the summer of 2012. Our preparation program involves participation in meetings and a retreat. Confirmation will be celebrated with the Bishop in May 2013.

***Please note: St. Thomas More Newman Center will only celebrate Confirmation every other year. The next few times the Newman Center will celebrate Confirmation will be in the spring of 2013 and 2015.
