Fr. Chuck Cunniff, C.S.P.
Pastoral Associate
Fr. Chuck has been a member of the Newman Center staff since Sept. 1, 2004.
Fr. Chuck made his first promises with the Paulist Fathers in August 1978. He was ordained to the priesthood on May 21, 1983 in New York City. Fr. Chuck has served on the staffs of:
- The Catholic Information Centre staff in Toronto, Ontario (1982-1984)
- Blessed Pope John XXIII University Parish at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville (1984-1989)
- Saint Austin's parish in Austin, Texas, adjacent to the University of Texas - Austin (1989-1994)
- Newman House, The Catholic Center at Boston University, where he was the director (1994-1999),
- A sabbatical year allowed him to complete a Master of Divinity degree at the Washington Theological Union
- The Catholic Information Center in Grand Rapids, Mich. (2000-2004).
Fr. Chuck's focus with regards to the OSU campus is primarily to students, but also reaches out to members of the faculty and staff. Fr. Chuck is the staff liaison on liturgical matters (lectors and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion), the pre-Cana workshop (marriage preparation) team and the baptism (infants) prep team. He enjoys working with engaged couples in their marriage preparation process, where he is known for his "infamous three questions".
Fr. Chuck's hope is to be found on campus at least for a part of his "working" day. Should you see him walking around campus or working out at the RPAC, feel free to stop him and start a conversation. Going to lunch with someone also counts towards his "working" out of the office (and he usually buys lunch!)
Contact Fr. Chuck at (614) 291-4674 x103.
