Mathew Treadwell

Development Director

Mathew joined the Newman Center staff in October 2011. As Development Director, he cultivates support for generous and life-giving ministries offered from and for the Roman Catholic community at The Ohio State University – the largest university in the United States.

In his previous position as Director of Communications at the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, Mathew helped to launch an annual Bishop’s Charity Golf Classic to benefit seminarian education and Bishop’s Charity Ball and BIG Raffle to benefit Catholic schools and parish religious education programs. He also worked to promote the diocese’s annual Catholic Services Appeal and the creation and good works of the Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan. In 2007, he became the founding editor of FAITH Saginaw, the membership magazine of the Diocese of Saginaw.

A product of Big Ten higher education, Mathew earned his B.A. in journalism from Michigan State
University in 2003. While in East Lansing, he received the sacraments of initiation at the St. John Student Center and served as a student leader and retreat team member there following his conversion.

Mathew lives in the Columbus area with his wife, Catherine, and their two children, Joseph and Monica.
