Exploring Narnia
We are excited to announce the start of a reading/multimedia club for 5th - 8th graders; we will be discovering, discussing, and dissecting the Christian and spiritual themes of popular book series', starting with The Chronicles of Narnia. The program will be an open forum discussion where we'll explore how God is present in modern parables by analyzing and comparing books to movies, to spiritual guides, and web resources such as wikipedia. This is a great opportunity for pre-teens to practice their reading and comprehension skills, have high level talks about faith, and maybe even make new friends.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. in the International Room, meeting every other Thursday thru May. Friends are welcome! We'll read through each book in the series, so if you can't make it from the start just join us when you can. We will start reading The Magician's Nephew and continue with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Please bring your own books. If you're interested in the group or have any questions, please contact Aaron Greene at greeneaaron@yahoo.com .
Aaron and Carmen Flores (CGS Level III catechists) will be leading the group.
