Community Councils

The mission of the Newman Center is shaped and implemented by several committees and councils.

 


Finance Committee

The St. Thomas More Newman Center Finance Committee is a consultative body that advises the Director and staff in the administration and stewardship of the material goods of the Newman Center. The membership of the committee is representative of the diverse constituencies of the Newman Center community. Efficient and effective use and management of church resources are measured as much by their contribution to the Newman Center's mission as by commonly accepted business standards.

Leadership Council

The St. Thomas More Newman Center Leadership Council is charged with taking active responsibility for the advancement of the Newman Center’s mission.  The Council assists in building the ministry for the future through personal commitments of time, community connections, and financial resources.  Council members encourage others in the Catholic community to support the ministry.

Stewardship and Strategic Planning Committee

The Stewardship and Strategic Planning Committee of the St. Thomas More Newman Center is an advisory group that consults with the Director and staff on matters related to our stewardship of time, talent, and treasure and on-going strategic planning. Comprised of members selected by the Director, the SSPC meets monthly to receive reports from the Director and Director of Development, to consider strategic initiatives, and to report on the "pulse" of the community.  In addition, the SSPC provides the entire Newman Center community with quarterly updates on stewardship at all weekend Masses.
