Colleen Speer

Assistant Development Director

Colleen joined the Newman Center staff in January 2009 as the Assistant Director of Development, where she oversees gift processing, direct mail appeals, acknowledgements, online giving programs, the Buckeye Catholic newsletter, and other special projects. Originally from Canfield, Ohio, Colleen has been an active member and volunteer at the Newman Center since 1997. She is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing communications. Prior to her current position, Colleen was the Assistant Director of annual giving at The Ohio State University, where she was responsible for the editorial content, design coordination and print production of direct mail appeals in coordination with e-giving and phone solicitation efforts. Additionally, Colleen has nearly ten years of experience working in the field of marketing communications as a business, economic development and fundraising writer and editor for non-profit, municipal and higher education organizations. She and her husband Brian live in Clintonville with their first child, Aidan, born in late September 2009.
