Cheryl Hoon

Business Administrator

As the Business Administrator, Cheryl oversees the finances, staff, and physical resources of the Newman Center. Cheryl serves as an active member of the Stewardship & Strategic Planning Committee, and active member of and staff liaison to the Finance Committee and Building Usage Committee. She is an active member of the National Association of Church Business Administrators and the Diocesan Parish Administrators Group.

Before joining the Newman Center staff in 1995, Cheryl managed the business office of a Christian counseling practice in Columbus. She earned her degree in textiles and fashion design at the University of Akron, continued her education at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas, and with Sheridan, Barton, and Vasko, CPAs in finance and accounting. She and her husband live in Upper Arlington and enjoy long distance cycling.

When asked what part of her role as Business Administrator she enjoys most, Cheryl says “simply being given the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others is what makes my job so rewarding.”
